The Haunting

Built in 1887 by Judge Theodore Brantley, the historic mansion is said to be haunted ever since 1970, when the owners made some major renovations to the third floor. The door opens and shuts on its own, and footsteps can be heard going up the stairs, opening doors, and pacing, a longtime habit of Judge Brantley's. This mansion is privately owned; no trespassing allowed. Poltergeist activity also has occurred, and a candy dish in the basement would empty itself in seconds (M&Ms are the ghost's favorites). It is also said that a potted plant once floated through the air and then smashed to the ground, after which the vacuum cleaner started up by itself and moved to clean up the mess.

Stories mention doors opening and shutting, pacing footsteps, basement candy disappearing, a floating plant, and a vacuum starting by itself. The entry now emphasizes private ownership/no trespassing.
